This 2-CD set commemorates the 40th anniversary of the 1959 United Sacred Harp Convention at Fyffe and Alan Lomax's historic recording of that event. Selections are taken from the 110th session of the United Sacred Harp Musical Association, which convened September 11-12, 1999 at Liberty Church, Henagar, Alabama, only a few miles from Fyffe. Amazingly, more than 20 singers who attended the 1959 convention also attended and sang at the 1999 event, as did many younger descendants and friends of the 1959 singing convention.
